Pelvic floor

Biofeedback & pelvic floor

Making pelvic floor activity visible – and, in a relaxed atmosphere, learning to recognise your pelvic floor, experience it and train it in a targeted way.

Kathrin Wiesmüller explaining the anatomy of the pelvic floor to a patient in her practice in Brunn am Gebirge

What is pelvic floor training?

In pelvic floor training, you learn to consciously sense, tighten and release your pelvic floor. During the session I explain how the pelvic floor is structured and what it does in everyday life – so you understand what you are training and can carry out the exercises in a targeted and effective way.

Biofeedback can be used to support this: a measuring electrode, inserted into the vagina or anus like a tampon, makes the activity of the pelvic floor visible and audible on a monitor. This lets you see straight away whether you are activating the right muscles.
